Save Fred!

Mrs. Carnes' 3rd grade class has been working on STEM activities on Friday afternoons. Last week, we had to "Save Fred!", a gummy worm who was trapped on top of a plastic cup. His life preserver, however, was trapped under the cup. Students had to figure out how to get the life preserver onto Fred without him falling off the cup...or using their hands! They were only allowed to touch Fred with paper clips! This week, students worked together to build a tower with marshmallows and tooth picks. The tallest tower standing after 10 minutes was the winner!
