Thankful for Technology

Technology is allowing us to provide a much more personalized education for our students. This photo shows students stopping to respond via Google Docs while watching a “Mystery Science” video about what it would be like to live on the moon. Not only were they able to electronically share this assignment directly to me to be assessed, but they were also able to share it with one friend as a way of peer editing. Technology allows the kids to have an endless amount of information at their fingertips. These third graders are able to navigate around these brand new Chromebooks better than most adults. This makes it so they can move at their own pace on the educational programs assigned to them. Every student learns differently and at different speeds, but technology allows educators to accommodate unique learning styles and to assign specific skills for each individual student. Tradition style learning has a whole different look and feel than our current 1:1 classrooms have. I honestly believe that we are seeing growth and the kids are benefiting from the individualized technology that WC is able to provide for our students and we are very thankful!
