Harry Potter Club Goes to the Movies
By Rankin, Tammy
The West Central Middle School Harry Potter Club attended a showing of the newest HP movie.
ON Monday November 19, all 10 members of the club, sponsor Mrs. Rankin and her husband Professor Doug Rankin went to Westland Mall to see The Crimes of Grindewald.
The club members had a great time and ate a lot of popcorn and candy. The plot twists and surprises in the movie kept everyone talking all the way home.
Students in the club raised the money for tickets and transportation to the fun event by running the middle school concession stands this Fall.
Future activities sponsored by the Harry Potter Club include a formal Winter Ball at the Middle School similar to the Ball in the book series, and their annual trip to duel the Monmouth College Modern Mythology classes in Harry Potter Trivia and Quidditch in the Spring.
Thank you to all the supporters of the club, customers at the concession stands, Principal Joe Peters, District 235, and all of our terrific parents for helping us enjoy our HP Club!
Extra thanks to Rick Olson for reserving a van, cleaning it off of snow, and making it convenient for Mrs. Rankin to pick up for us to take to the movie.
Go Dumbledore’s Army!
