HELLO! My name is Doug Dennison and I’m the new Site Coordinator for our West Central Middle School 21 st CCLC Club H.E.A.T. Program. I’m excited for the opportunity to build relationships with all of the West Central Middle School Community. This will be the 3 rd year of Club H.E.A.T. and I’ve inherited a GREAT staff and look forward to seeing how we can continue to build our program.
- WHO: West Central Middle School Nita M. Lowey 21 st Century Community Learning Center Grant
- WHAT: A Federal funded grant that was written and obtained by HKMW Regional Office of Education #33 and governed by the Illinois State Board of Education, to provide “out of school time” academic, literacy, and enrichment learning opportunities for our West Central Middle School students and their families.
- WHEN: After school, evenings, some weekends, some holiday breaks, and summer (outside the normal school day). Monday-Friday3:15-5:45PM are normal hours of operation.
- WHERE: West Central Middle School, within our communities, working with community partners, field trips…
SOME OF OUR PAST PROGRAM OFFERINGS, BUT NOT LIMITED TO…Homework Help/Tutoring, Fitness, Cross-Stitch, Sewing, E-Sports, Arts/Crafts, Family Nights…We are hoping to be able to offer Robotics, Coding, Band Lessons, Bucket Band/Drumline, Book Club… this school year. I’m always looking to add new opportunities.

We will begin our regular programming next week, Tuesday, September 3, 2024. Please check the West Central Middle School website and social media page for monthly calendars and announcements. I’m looking forward to continuing this Great program this school year. I hope to see and hear from you! You will definitely be seeing and hearing from me!
