Important Reminders and Updates
April 30, 2020
Good afternoon West Central Family,
I hope this message finds you and your family well and healthy.
I want to remind those of you who have signed up for meals during the mandated closure that we will have our regular meal distribution this afternoon at the normal times. Please be sure to go get the meals you have ordered.
Also, as a reminder new packets will be available for pickup at the building your child attends this afternoon from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. This will be our last packet pickup day. This exchange process will be in the front of each building, so you will use the bus lane at the elementary, the middle school, and the high school. We ask that you do not get out of your vehicle during the meal distribution or packet exchange process. If you would like your packet to be sent with your meals, please email your child’s building administrator and let them know that right away. We will have boxes or tubs available at the end of each pickup line for packets of completed work to be returned. We ask that you place the packet in the appropriate box. Bus drivers and those helping with meal distribution at locations other than the schools will not take the completed packets. They will need to be dropped off at the school during the designated times.
The final day that students will be required to check in with their teacher, with the exception of seniors, will be May 15. Students, please continue to check in with your teacher daily through May 15. Seniors are done May 1 unless they are not satisfied with their current grade.
Also, the district has purchased yard signs for our Seniors. These signs will be on display in front of the high school this afternoon. Seniors will be allowed to take their sign home with them. We ask that seniors who want their sign, pick it up at the high school between 5:30 - 6:00 p.m. this evening. Please stay in your vehicle, and we will get the sign for you. If you are unable to get it this evening, you may email your building administrator and arrange for a time to get it.
The final packet drop off days will be Monday, May 18 and Thursday, May 21. Students will also be able to get any belongings that are in the school at that time. These items will be bagged up for the students and distributed to the students on one of those dates via the drive through method we have been using for the packet exchange process.
We continue to thank you for your patience, support, and understanding as we have worked through this unprecedented situation together. You are doing awesome, and we are so appreciative of your cooperation and support in providing for the health and safety of our students and staff as well as our efforts to continue their education. We are so blessed to have such supportive families and community members.
Please remember to follow the CDC guidelines so that we can all stay safe and healthy during this time.
Blessings to you,
Paula Markey, Superintendent
