Retirement Spotlight #2
Please join me in honoring and thanking our next Retirement Spotlight, Mrs. Nancy Chandler. Mrs. Chandler has served the Union/West Central School Districts for the last 23 years. We asked each of our retirees a few questions. Below is Mrs. Chandler's story:
"I graduated from WIU and obtained my masters degree from Walden University.
My teaching career began at Union. My first position was a one-on-one aid for a kindergarten student. Then I became a long-term substitute for a first grade class. From there, I moved to teach language arts to fifth and sixth graders.
After consolidation, I taught middle school literature and language arts and also several years as a Title I teacher at the middle school.
My advice for those entering the teaching profession is to have plenty of emotional stamina.
Upon retirement, I plan to spend time with my 8 grandkids."
Thank you, Mrs. Chandler, for your service and dedication to the Union and West Central School Districts! Enjoy the next few months and a well deserved retirement! You will be missed!
