Important Information and Dates for Return to Learn January 2021
Good morning West Central Families,
I hope this correspondence finds you well. As a reminder, January 4, 5, and 6 will be a combination of Remote Learning Planning days and a Teacher Institute day for staff. This means students are not expected to be online or complete work on these days. Remote learning begins on Thursday, January 7. WCMS and WCHS students will be online with their teachers each day on their regular in-person schedule. All students will need to be certified via Skyward by 7:30 a.m. each morning beginning Thursday, January 7. Summary of Important Dates
January 4 and 5, 2021 - Remote Learning Planning Days for Staff (Students are not expected to be online or complete work on these days.)
January 5, 2021 - I am happy to report, we finally received our Chromebook shipment and are ready to distribute them to Kindergarten and 1st Grade students. If your child is in Kindergarten or 1st Grade, please pick up a Chromebook at West Central Elementary from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 5.
January 5, 2021 - Materials Pickup. If your child has any additional materials that will be needed during our remote learning time, those items will be available for pickup from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 5. Your child's teacher(s) will let you know if there is anything that needs to be picked up. Not all students will have additional items to pick up.
January 5-8 and January 11-15, 2021 - Meals will be distributed at the building each child attends from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. each day. If you would like to pick up your child's meals at a different facility, please contact the building your child attends to let them know which building. If you ordered meals and no longer wish to receive them during this remote learning time, please contact the District Office at (309) 627-2371.
January 6, 2021 - Teacher Institute (Students are not expected to be online or complete work on this day.)
January 7 - 15, 2021 - Remote Learning for All Students
January 18, 2021 - Martin Luther King Day - No School
January 19, 2021 - Return to in-person Instruction for those who have selected that option. Remote learning will continue for those students who have chosen the remote learning option.
